The first unit in Social Studies was about the colonization of Norea America. We started out learning about the discoveries, then the 13 colonies. It started out with Christopher Columbus landing in what is called the West Indies. Then, along came the Spanish, French, and English. The Spanish conquered southern America, the French conquered northern America, and the English conquered middle America. The first colony being Jamestown, and after many years, the English colonized 13 original colonies. The regions were New England, the middle colonies, the back country, and the southern colonies. We did a few things during this unit. One of them being a big project on the Native Americans.
